Around 27 per cent of tech entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region are Jordanian, despite the country making up only three per cent of the region’s population. However, many Jordanian entrepreneurs leave the country for better opportunities elsewhere.
The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has established the Regulatory Sandbox for FinTech Innovations (JoRegBox), providing a controlled environment for fintech companies to test innovative digital financial solutions under CBJ’s supervision. This initiative aims to promote innovation, enhance competitiveness, and improve access to formal financial services while ensuring consumer protection and financial stability.
